One lazy afternoon, while as I was looking for free applications to install on my ipod touch, i stumbled upon these religious related stuff applications- holy bible, how to pray rosary, bible passages...all these for free download! As i browsed more, i have found "Youversion", and it's currently the best selling iphone application under the Reference category.
Youversion is a simple thing- a bible, a mobile bible. It can be downloaded to a number of different platforms- iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, PalmOS, Windows Phone 7, Facebook and web. Presently, the app gets downloaded at the rate of over 1 million new users every month and has kept itself in the top 5 download apps for the Reference category of the App Store. It is announced that it already reached its 10million downloads.
I'm impressed with the people behind YouVersion for their effort to share Christian faith. YouVersion is centered around the bible. It’s akin to an online bible group. Members can interact with each other and discuss passages of the bible. There's a journal space to write down thoughts. You can even email, tag, or link sections of the bible that appeal to you. By the way, its FREE.
So, thinking on how you will convince your kids to read bible? Try introducing them to "Jesus Phone". Wonderful, for even God has gone web.
