Experience Philippine country life at Villa Escudero Plantations & Resort

A two and a half hours drive from Manila, Villa Escudero is a working coconut plantation founded in the 1880s by Don Placido Escudero and wife Dona Claudia Marasigan. Their children opened the estate to the public in 1981 as a resort offering village tours, & museum tours. Since then it has become the prime tourist destination both for locals and foreign. Villa Escudero showcases Philippines cultural heritage.

  •  Museum Tour (AERA Museum) - highlights of our tour is a family museum of archaelogical artifacts and antique relics. It houses the biggest collection of religious arts in the world, displaying ivory saint statues, huge carved religious images,  silver altars, and so many others which reflect the Spanish era. Just like any other museums I have been to, taking pictures inside the museum is not allowed.
  • Waterfalls Restaurant - Lunch with a wet feet, food were served on a bamboo dining tables beside the man made waterfalls.

  • Philippine Experience Show - take note that cultural shows are available only during weekends (Fri, Sat & Sunday). The cultural dances are performed by  resort employees, with the resort's owned musicians and rondalla ensemble.

  • Swimming -  who would have thought that they also have pools for swimming? Yes, there is. Actually they have two standard and two kiddie pools available for use. Changing rooms are set next to the pool.

  • Bamboo Rafts - alternative to kayak :-) Bamboo rafts are made of bamboo poles tied together.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST ? 
Below is the estimated cost of our trip.
  • Day tour package rate: Php 1,400 per head (rates are cheaper @Php 1,250 during weekdays) Package inclusions are welcome drinks, carabao cart ride, museum tour, cultural show, use of outdoor recreational activities such as rafting, swimming, and lunch at the waterfalls.

  HOW TO GET HERE?

Land routes: Take the South Super Highway and exit at 50 (Lucena, Legaspi, Batangas exit). Turn to left at the Sto. Tomas junction. Head straight down, by passing the town of Alaminos and San Pablo City Proper. Slow down upon seeing Quezon arch and turn left immediately after.

Bus lines: (Lucena routes) Lucena Lines JAC, Grand Star, Jam, stations at Gil Puyat, Buendia or in Alabang.
